• Recent Funding from DoE and FDACS

    The Chauhan lab is pleased to announce two new grants from the Department of Energy (DoE) and the Florida Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (FDACS).

    The DoE grant entails comparative analysis of microbially-mediated mercury cycling between Savannah River Site, Aiken (SC) and Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR).

    The FDACS grant is based on coupling wastewater as a nutrient source to production of biobased products such as oil, nutraceuticals, vitamins etc.

  • The Chauhan lab welcomes Dr. Ayman Ewida, a visiting faculty from the National Water Research Center, Egypt.

    Dr. EwidaDr. Ewida is pursuing a 6-month training program on the biodegradation of two commonly occurring pesticides- Alachlor and Endosulfan, by environmental microbiota.

    Trophy of appreciation being presented to Dr. Chauhan by Dr. Arun Ninawe, Senior Adviser, DBT, Govt. of India. Dr. Chauhan’s talk was titled “Insights into the catabolic potential of Rhodococcus opacus strain M213 isolated from a fuel-oil contaminated soil in northern Idaho, USA”
